Conamara Cup
An Ghaeltacht Rugbaí will be running the 4th Conamara cup this year !
It will take place on Saturday 14th April 2012.
The event takes place in An Cheathrú Rua, Conamara, Co na Gaillimhe. (Carraroe Co Galway.)
The day goes like this.
Mini Blitz IRFU Rules.
Under 10 will start at 11am
Under 11 starts at 12pm
Under 12 at 1pm (this allows teams traveling long distances to travel on the same day)
Mini Blitz Format for above ( No Competition)
IRB Youth rules.
Under 13 Cup Comp at 2pm
Under 15 Cup Comp at 3 pm
We ask clubs to try and make sure everybody plays.
The format for Youths only is a Round Robin situation.
We usually have 4 teams per comp where they all play in a play a league format followed by 2 semi's and then a Final.
Each Team should get at least 4 games in the day.
All Teams play each other in League.
If you were to lose all the games of the league and finish 4th you still play in semi final playing against Winner of league
OR
If you were third in league you would play second in League in other Semi.
The games are generally 10/15 mins each to a Maximum of 70 mins per day as per IRB rules.
There is no Entry fee and a running BBQ is available from 12pm. If a second team is entered we have to charge €100 for the two teams.
All Players receive Medals. which are presented by a Connacht Pro Player.
We would like if possible each club to have a Branch qualified Ref to be available to Referee on the day.
There is accommodation available in the Village.

Geraldine Ní Dhonnacha 087 2440548 is the contact for the Players Bean an Tí houses. These houses are normally used by the Irish Colleges
The Bean an Tí houses 14/ 16 kids and they look after them after the days activities on the pitch, They give them an evening meal and B+B. You collect them on Sunday morning.
Last year the costs were for B+B's €50 per head per adult and €25 per head per child. The visiting Clubs deal directly with the guesthouses.
