An Agusta Westland 139 helicopter, part of the new Irish Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS), "dropped" in on An Cheathrú Rua, County Galway, when it landed on the local football pitch, Páirc an Chathánaigh, in the village much to the excitement of local children. The helicopter is based in Custume Barracks, Athlone. It is the fastest helicopter in its class, capable of travelling at 315 kilometres per hour and can be anywhere in the country in 50 minutes. Video shows it taking off and saluting waving children.
