Single Parents SPARK meeting

A briefing on the group SPARK (Single Parents Acting for the Rights of Their Kids) will be held in Oifig Comharchumann Mhic Dara in An Cheathrú Rua, today, Thursday, April 12 at 8 pm.

The group will do a presentation about the work and the campaign they are doing and will have Trevor Ó Clochartaigh and Joe Ó Curraoin will be present to support and advise those who come to the meeting.

"The Labour Party is putting more pressure on people already living in poverty. They think we won’t get the support of the people, "says one mother, Brigid Ní Chualáín."The single parents  income is cut by 50%," she said

SPARK is a group of single parents who came together to campaign for their rights after the last budget. The single parents in Connemara and the Aran will be at the protest outside the Labour Party Ard-Fheis on this Saturday, April 14, starting at Galway Cathedral at 1pm.
